Breaking the Rules
These three photos all break the rules of photography in some way. The first photo breaks the rules because the fence is in the way of the subject, the photo should only focus on Tanya (the model) however the fence blocks the way from seeing the details. The photo is in good focus on both the fence and the model but the fence makes seem like the model is blurry. This photo breaks short depth of field. I love how the shadow of the fence is showing on her body.
In this photo I broke the rule of merger. A merger occurs when the background subject is directly in front or behind the subject. It can also occur if both main subjects overlap with each other or touch the side of the picture frame. Behind Tanya there are two trees and she is almost in the middle between them although it seems like the big tree is coming out of her head. There is also a branch's shadow on her face.
The last photo breaks the rules since the subject is against the sign that says "DO NOT ENTER". Also the car in the background is in the way of the photo and may also seem like it is going against the sign although it is not. I used different techniques that would disregard the simple rules of photography. It was a very unique assignment and I really liked how we had the choice of shooting with either cameras. I loved how this assignment was to break the rules of photography I found it really easy to do other than trying to find good rules of photography in our photos.
