Inspiration Post

Annie Leibovitz is considered one of America's best portrait photographers, that's why I chose to write my inspiration post about her. Her works focus on varied subjects but hover more among celebrity portraits. Apart from these, her photos depict visual stories that affect audience's emotions. Annie became Rolling Stone's chief photographer in 1973. After working at Rolling Stones for 10 years, Leibovitz accepted a job from Mick Jagger to work as the official tour photographer for The Rolling Stones. By the time she left the magazine, 10 years later, she had shot 142 covers. Later, she joined the staff at Vanity Fair, and in 1998 she also began working regularly for Vogue. Photographers such as Robert Frank and Henri Cartier-Bresson influenced her during her time at San Francisco Art Institute. Over her 30 some years in the industry, Annie has photographed some of the most iconic figures in art, politics, music, and film including John Lennon, Mick Jagger, Queen Elizabeth, George Bush, and Michael Jackson. She's also behind many controversial shoots, including one featuring the 15 year old Miley Cyrus in 2008 for the front cover of Vanity Fair.
